Good bye, Ashley.

Jenn's friend, Ashley, moved to Colorado this Sunday. Jenn and Ashley have known each other for many years and have been through a lot together.
They taught preschool together.
They went to college together.

They played in the fountain at Gateway together.
They got married together. Okay, not really. Jenn just went to Ashley's wedding.
Aaww, don't they look cute together?
Who wouldn't miss this girl? Love you, Ashley! Thanks for all the good times.

Wheeler Farm

Ben and Jenn love going to Wheeler Farm. It is free and there are tons of fun animals.
Look at the cute baby duckies!
Look at the cute baby horsies! Okay, really they are full-grown, but aren't they cute?
Ben is very brave. He isn't afraid of the animals biting him.
Look at the cute baby boy and the cute baby sheepy.
And a cute baby goat.
Aawh, a piggie. Isn't he cute?
Sometimes you see things you didn't expect. See the little mousie?
Oh, gross. They didn't expect to see this. Groddy ol' -pede.

Babies for the Babies

Ben and Jenn decided that their old bird feeder, the Christmas tree that hadn't been thrown away yet, needed to be replaced.
Here is the new bird feeder at Jenn's house, complete with a little friend.

Here is the feeder at Ben's house.

While they were at the store they also bought some tomato and cucumber seeds and do-it-yourself seed starters.

Day 3 and the cucumbers are already growing. Look at the little babies!

Only a few days later and it was time to put the cucumbers in bigger cups.

Wookie and Squeaker want to help replant the babies.

Here are the baby cucumbers in their new cups.

They put the baby tomatoes into bigger pots, too.

But, they died :(

Vacation in Vegas

For Christmas, Jenn wanted to surprise Ben with a quick trip to Las Vegas, Nevada. Unfortunately, there was record snowfall in Vegas that weekend so they had to postpone the trip. Fortunately, the weekend of January 16th turned out to be sunny with temps in the 70's. They couldn't have been forced to pick a better weekend.
They stayed in the Luxor hotel on the stip in Las Vegas. This is the interior of the giant piramid hotel.
It is so tall inside the full-sized palm trees don't come close to reaching the top.Ben and Jenn stayed in room 18139, which is on the 18th floor.
This is the nuts view looking down from their hotel room.
Saturday morning, after room-service breakfast, Ben and Jenn set out to explore Vegas. Their first stop was the aquarium in the Mandalay Bay hotel.
The fishies were huge! That is Ben's hand!
There were tons of sharks.
They even got to pet the rays.

The Jelly Fish are one of Jenn's favorites.
After Mandalay Bay, Ben and Jenn went to the MGM hotel to see the Lion exhibit. There is a completely see-through tunnel you can walk through to see the lions sleeping and lazing on the top.
Yeah, that is a grown man... cuddling with the lions. Crazy!
Jenn was stoked to see the freaks and geeks along the strip. Oh, look. There's one.
"Is he pointing at me?"
"I think he likes me."
Can you believe this is how he makes his living?!?
Can you tell which one is wax and which one is real?
There is a canal and real boats in the Venetian hotel.
This is the ceiling inside the Venetian hotel. The clouds looked so real.
More freaks and geeks. Crazy tree people.
Don't know what this is. Just thought it looked cool.
Neptune?

Another freak and/or geek.
Ben and Jenn were so tired from walking the strip all day. They were relieved when they finally made it back to their hotel. Lucky for the beam of light shooting out the top of it. Without it they may not have been able to find their way back.
This is the view of the cat's butt from out their hotel room window.
